How My Liberal and Independent Facebook Friends Gave Me Hope

Politics and voting are brutal endeavors for ordinary Americans because it's so drenched in raw emotion and anger. As a Libertarian Ron Paul supporter, I've observed the mess first hand on my Facebook wall.  While I definitely lean anarcho-capitalist, I  also realize that I'll never bear witness to living without government oppression.  Still, I remain hopeful that the more egregious components of statism and government tyranny can successfully be weakened and eventually eradicated, like wars, Banksters Gone Wild and perpetual cannibal crony capitalism, otherwise known as corporatism, fascism, oligarchy and plutocracy.

Admittedly, I hardly have any hardcore neocon Facebook friends because these folks are very annoying as well as the least likely group of folks to embrace reason and rationality. However, I do have a fair amount of Facebook friends who are self-described liberals/progressives and/or independent voters. My Facebook wall is a place where liberals, independents, Paulites, liberty activists and Libertarians meet.

While there are indeed disagreements on the role of government, entitlements and taxes, there are core areas of total agreement:

1. The all despise the wars and US foreign policy which they consider evil.
2. They all oppose bankster bailouts and understand that it plunders the people.
3. They all oppose corporate welfare and understand that it exclusively benefits big powerful corporations.

The above 3 items alone constitute a powerful starting point for unity and empowerment of We the People.

Many liberals and Libertarians are refusing to vote Republican or Democrat because of the endless wars, bankster bailouts and corporate welfare. This is very significant because it strikes at the core of the corruption in the DC District of Crime, namely that the RNC and DNC machines are really nothing but money laundering operations as well as wholly owned subsidiaries of the military industrial complex, the prison industrial complex, banksters and rent seeking corporatists.

For the first time in my life, there truly is a movement in progress and an actual revolution to directly challenge government powers that we once took for granted as necessary and inviolate. Even more inspiring is that folks of a variety of political inclinations are working together to understand each other and the concerns of everybody as the phony baloney left-right paradigm that feeds the RNC and the DNC fear based talking points is being shattered.  I've learned a lot more about liberals/progressives because I've listened to them and I don't doubt that they've learned a lot about Libertarians by listening to us.  Frankly, we have a lot more in common than we think as most Libertarians would label themselves classical liberals (before totalitarian warmongering statists hijacked liberalism).

On October 23, 2012, C-Span carried a live broadcast of the Independent Presidential Debate, as did Youtube. The Independent candidates were:

Gary Johnson, Libertarian Party
Virgil Goode, Constitution Party
Dr. Jill Stein, Green Party
Rocky Anderson, Justice Party

Johnson and Goode are considered conservatives while Stein and Anderson are ideologically progressive. Yet, they all support ending unconstitutional wars, ending bankster bailouts and ending corporate welfare. With the exception of Virgil Goode, an admitted prohibitionist, they all support legalizing marijuana and ending the War on Drugs.  Moreover, all the independent candidates talked about the war on civil liberties, NDAA and their concerns about the US morphing into a police state, something that has already commenced.

In my not so humble opinion, the Republican and Democrat parties are so far gone and so detached from average Americans that they are not only beyond redemption but so utterly embedded in cronyism, oligarchy and the Nazified Police State that whatever "we the people" attributes our political system once exemplified are now long gone. We the People do not nominate candidates; the candidates are chosen by party elites for the exclusive benefit of corporate contributors.

While the Independent Debate did elicit specific candidate support for Johnson, Goode, Stein or Anderson according to political preferences, it also resulted in the profound message and belief that any of these candidates would in fact be a vast improvement over Obama or Romney or any Republican or Democrat.

To end the wars, bankster bailouts and corporate welfare queens, I do believe that Americans are finally ready and willing to negotiate in the spirit of compromise to achieve the higher goal of peace, liberty and prosperity for all Americans.  Yes, liberals will have to agree to rollback entitlement spending, accept reductions in federal powers and even affirm state rights but at the end of the day they should be euphoric that they finally succeeded in killing the military industrial complex, the prison industrial complex, the civil liberties crushing police state, the thieving banksters and the crony capitalists.

Heck, if we worked together to accomplish the above, America could easily be well on the road back to prosperity, sanity and liberty because knocking out the biggest and nastiest impediments to liberty and prosperity would be one heck of a We the People coup.

Therefore, my advice to all political activists regardless of political ideology is this:  focus on the damn enemies because they are big and bad and they need to go.

We can do this!  I know we can because Facebook is loaded with folks who understand who the real enemies are.

Why I'm Voting for Gary Johnson

Gary Johnson is not Ron Paul but who is? Still, he's the strongest liberty candidate in the presidential race and by a wide margin which makes Gary Johnson a gazillion times better than Obushma or Mittens.

I'm voting for Gary Johnson because a vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for liberty. There is no way on God's green earth that I could ever vote for a Goldman Sachs owned warmongering socialist statist puppet. I fully grasp that the RNC and DNC machines are wholly owned subsidiaries of the banksters, defense contractors, military industrial complex, prison industrial complex and fascist rent seeking crony capitalists.

America desperately needs peace, liberty and prosperity, without which we will surely be sucked into the black hole of permanent extinction and join all the other failed empires throughout history.

I don't believe that Gary Johnson will win the election. In fact, I don't believe that he stands any chance whatsoever of winning. However, there are many perfectly valid and sane reasons to vote for Gary Johnson.

1. A vote for Gary Johnson is vote for liberty and the outright rejection of the corrupt to the core Republicans and Democrats.

2. A vote for Gary Johnson will definitely keep the liberty movement alive, kicking and thriving.

3. A vote for Gary Johnson is a real kick in the teeth to the smug R's and D's who are convinced that liberty activists are powerless at the ballot box. Yet, we have far more ballot box power than we think we have and we have at least enough ballot box power to stop the GOP from winning by relentlessly pounding them in critical swing states. The Republicans won't be so smug when they realize that they lost the election by 1-2 points in the swing states because of the Libertarian vote.

4. A vote for Gary Johnson screams 'We're here, we're politically active and we ain't quitting until we are free from endless wars, the banksters and tyranny'. The R and D establishment is banking on the hope that we are so demoralized and weak that we will just opt out of political activism and give up.

5. A vote for Gary Johnson or any third party absolutely threatens the two-party election monopoly and the rise of 3rd parties is a direct challenge to political corruption.

6.  A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote to continue the Ron Paul Revolution for peace, liberty and prosperity and a total rejection of wars and statism.

According to Wikipedia, here, voter turnout in 2008 was a pathetic 57%.  In 1840, the voter turnout was 80%.  Voter turnout in recent decades reached a high of 63% in 1960, JFK's historic election.

The totalitarian thugs who lord over us are quite happy when folks refuse to vote or become politically active because it's proof that we just don't care enough to fight the tyranny, plunder and injustice.  As it becomes increasingly apparent that the option is now slavery or liberty, America desperately needs another Revolution.

A vote for Gary Johnson is a Revolution.

Frick and Frack, Dis and Dat - Drain the Swamp and Vote Third Party

As a Ron Paul supporter, many of us have been frustrated with the anarcho-capitalist voluntarist wing of the Libertarian movement because many of these folks simply refuse to politically engage or even vote.  They make a perfectly valid point "why bother to vote when nothing ever changes".  It's tough to argue with such logic.  The more things change, the more they remain the same.  Americans keep voting for change but the change never comes.

To be sure, there won't be any change if Obama is re-elected or even if Romney manages to pull off a miracle and defy the odds in a race where he is a clear underdog.  The polls are not looking good for Romney and every major election pundit agrees that the advantage definitely goes to Obama.  Moreover, the gamblers at Intrade.com give Obama a comfortable probability of being elected of 58.1% to a 41.7% probability for Romney.  No one should knock the Intrade gamblers.  They beat every pundit in 2008 and by a wide margin.  Intrade predicted that Obama would win with 364 electoral votes, he got 365.  Nobody got that close.

So here we are again.  It's another presidential election year and the choices are miserable.  Well, they really aren't all that miserable and the Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, is a very decent candidate who shares a lot of Ron Paul's views.  Yeah, Gary Johnson isn't Ron Paul but who is?  Nobody.

For those among us who consider themselves liberty activists, it's best to vote for the strongest liberty candidate because this strikes a blow at the entrenched power structures of the corrupt RNC and DNC machines that tend to cavalierly marginalize 3rd parties as irrelevant because they just haven't taken off in big enough numbers to signal any real threat to the two party system.

No third party in America stands any chance of winning a presidential election.  But voting third party shouts "I'm here, I'm politically active and I intend to fight the corrupt two party system".  If anything, the third party voters take away votes from both the Republican and Democratic Parties and disemboweling the two headed monster is the act of self-preservation.  .

The Republican and Democratic Parties don't care if folks don't vote so long as they don't vote third party.  However, if third parties start to register alarming percentages that constitute a real threat to R and D absolute power, the grassroots within both parties will be vastly strengthened as will the power of independent voters.

While I understand why folks refuse to vote and accept that I cannot possibly change their minds, those of us who do vote and participate in the political cesspool have a lot at stake here.  Defeating Romney strikes a most deserving blow at the GOP.  Four more years of Obama and Gang is better than 8  years of worthless statist neocon Republican socialists.

My choice:  Gary Johnson and the Libertarian Party.

Election 2012: The Big Yawn Blame Game

Election 2012 has kicked off. It's Obamney and Paultard vs Obushma and Train Wreck Biden. Yawn! Such a potent sleeping pill should keep sane folks everywhere away from the dangers of Republican and Democrat ballot box gulags.

The Republican primary voting base has spoken: We want more wars, more socialism, more entitlements, more fiat money, more bankster bailouts, more spending, more deficits, more debt, more assaults on civil liberties, more prisons and more oppressive totalitarian governance.

The Democrat primary voting base has spoken: We want more wars, more socialism, more entitlements, more fiat money, more bankster bailouts, more spending, more deficits, more debt, more assaults on civil liberties, more prisons and more oppressive totalitarian governance.

What does this say about the American people? It just might prove that the American people may in fact be the only folks in human history to have had liberty and consciously and willfully decided to vote away their liberty.

What does it say about America's 2 party system? It unequivocally confirms that the Republican Party and the Democratic Party are one and the same - The Uniparty of Collectivist Statist Oppression.

Why even vote Republican or Democrat when we know we will only get more wars, more socialism, more entitlements, more fiat money, more bankster bailouts, more spending, more deficits, more debt, more assaults on civil liberties, more prisons and more oppressive totalitarian governance?

Change? The only change Americans will ever get will be the change that comes with permanently rejecting and disemboweling the Republican and Democratic Parties. The RNC and DNC machines are nothing but money laundering operations as well as wholly owned subsidiaries of the banksters, military industrial complex, prison industrial complex and fascist corporatist special interests.

A vote for permanent residence on the Republican or Democrat Plantation is hardly a vote for liberty.  It's more of a vote to permanently enslave yourself.

I'm voting for real change and will be voting for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson because he truly represents real change and at least a chance to demolish the corrupt to the core 2 party system that delivers nothing except more of the same.

America desperately needs a return to peace, liberty and prosperity. That's the hope I'll be voting for in November. Meanwhile the R's and D's can do what they always do - blame the other guy and the other party.

If Ron Paul isn't the Republican Nominee, Vote for Gary Johnson and Kick GOP Ass.

If Ron Paul isn't the Republican nominee and I don't believe that he will be, then it's decision time for liberty activists. As a proud Ron Paul supporter and a libertarian since the early 1970's, I'm thrilled that Ron Paul's 2012 campaign was such a resounding success! We've finally got a real revolution going that has extraordinary momentum, commitment and energy.

While we lacked the numerical strength to outvote the establishment statist neocon socialists who lust for endless wars, big government and big spending, we are amassing substantial power. We energized an entire nation and we succeeded in educating tens of millions on critically important issues like militarism gone mad and banksters gone wild. The Revolution for Liberty really kicked off in 2006 when liberty activists could no longer even hold their noses and vote Republican. The Republicans lost the House of Representatives. Obama and the Democrats sailed to an easy 2008 victory.

The Republican Party doesn't even seem to be the least bit concerned because it views the liberty activists as an alien invasion by liberals, kooks and irrelevant rabble-rousers. Of course, a sane and astute political observer would indeed be concerned about the loss of such a significant voting block - the young, the politically aware and the fiscally conservative.

While the RNC and GOP machines may be ignoring us, we are indeed hurting the Republican Party and it deserves the pain of ballot box failure for its utter treachery, blatant betrayal and contempt for the Constitution.

Ron Paul started something that is unstoppable and the best way to honor America's greatest revolutionary in modern American history (here) is to continue to wage the Revolution for Liberty by voting for the strongest liberty candidate on the ballot.

Gary Johnson is such a candidate and definitely a man worthy of filling Ron Paul's shoes.

Gary Johnson has an impressive record as governor of New Mexico. Gary Johnson governed as a solid fiscal conservative and defender of the 10th amendment and state rights. Foreign policy is a HUGE liberty activist issue. Gary Johnson believes that we shouldn't be military intervening anywhere without a congressional declaration of war and he also believes that we are spending way too much money on defense. On foreign policy, Gary Johnson states on his website:
Maintaining a strong national defense is the most basic of the federal government’s responsibilities. However, building schools, roads, and hospitals in other countries are not among those basic obligations. Yet that is exactly what we have been doing for much of the past 10 years .
Given trillion-dollar deficits, America simply cannot afford to be engaged in foreign policy programs that are not clearly protecting U.S. interests. There is nation-building and rebuilding to be done right here at home.
Our military should remain the most potent force for good on Earth. To do this, we should resort to military action as the last option and only as provided in the Constitution.
Gary Johnson also supports the legalization of marijuana, school choice, balancing the federal budget and he's a strong advocate for civil liberties.
THE FREEDOMS ON WHICH AMERICA WAS FOUNDED are now under attack from the very people charged with protecting and upholding them.

The PATRIOT Act should be repealed, which would restore proper judicial oversight to federal investigations and again require federal investigators to prove probable cause prior to executing a search.

Habeas corpus should be respected entirely, requiring the government to either charge incarcerated individuals with a crime or release them.

The TSA should take a risk-based approach to airport security. Only high-risk individuals should be subjected to invasive pat-downs and full-body scans.

The TSA should not have a monopoly on airport security. Airports and airlines should be encouraged to seek the most effective methods for screening travelers, including private sector screeners. Screeners outside of government can be held fully accountable for their successes and failures.
Gary Johnson is a thoroughly decent liberty candidate and a whole lot better than either Obama or Romney who together are like two peas in the R and D Uniparty pod.

If liberty activists want to advance the cause of liberty, then Gary Johnson is the best possible choice.

Yes, he's not Ron Paul, but who is?

Gary Johnson is definitely on the side of liberty and has been a champion of small constitutional government his entire life. He's got a record to prove it.

Obamney and Obushma are just not sane choices for those seeking preace, liberty and prosperity. Both the RNC and DNC machines are wholly owned subsidiaries of the same folks - the banksters, the military industrial complex, the prison industrial complex and fascist rent seeking crony capitalists.

Many unhappy Ron Paul supporters are saying that they will just write-in Ron Paul when they vote. However, write-in ballots are banned in many state and are rarely counted.

The best way for liberty activists to inflict pain on the GOP is to vigorously support and vote for a viable and decent third party candidate. The Libertarian Party has the advantage of being on the ballot in all 50 states (most third parties haven't even figured out how to get on the ballot).

At this juncture, we may not have the power to win a primary or an election but we definitely have the voting clout to keep the Republicans from winning as we continue to grow our glorious Revolution for Liberty. Liberty is definitely a smoking hot issues these days!

Oddly, there are times when I would definitely hold my nose and recommend voting Republican. The US Senate ratifies treaties and the Democrats are most eager to ratify sovereignty slashing treaties.

When I Would Hold My Nose and Vote Republican

It's not that Republicans are sovereignty fanatics but they are just less likely than the Democrats to ratify a nasty UN treaty that cedes US sovereignty to supranational organizations.

Finally, a vote for Gary Johnson is definitely a vote for liberty as well as a well deserved slap in the face to the Republican Party.

If you want this to mean something:

Then vote for Gary Johnson.
