Good News: Senate Fails to Ratify UN Treaty on Convention on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities

The United Nations seeks to implement global totalitarian law and tyranny. I 100% endorse getting the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US. Every UN treaty that is ratified hacks away at US national sovereignty and the Constitution.

A treaty ratification requires a 2/3 senate majority. The vote on this UN treaty was too close for comfort at 61-38, just 5 votes short of passage.  All 38 NO votes were Republicans but 8 Republicans crossed over and voted with the Democrats who love sovereignty slashing UN treaties.

Senate rejects United Nations treaty for disabled rights in a 61-38 vote
A United Nations treaty to ban discrimination against people with disabilities went down to defeat in the Senate on Tuesday in a 61-38 vote.
The treaty, backed by President Obama and former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kan.), fell five votes short of the two-thirds majority needed for confirmation as dozens of Senate Republicans objected that it would create new abortion rights and impede the ability of people to homeschool disabled children.
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) argued the treaty would infringe on U.S. sovereignty, an argument echoed by other opponents. “This unelected bureaucratic body would pass recommendations that would be forced upon the United States if we were a signatory,” he said.
Supporters of the treaty argued that the Convention on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities would simply require the rest of the world to meet the standards that Americans already enjoy under the 1990 Americans With Disabilities Act.
The treaty was negotiated and first signed under former President George W. Bush and signed again by Obama in 2009. At least 153 other countries have signed it.
Republican Sens. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), John Barrasso (Wyo.), Scott Brown (Mass.), Susan Collins (Maine), Dick Lugar (Ind.), John McCain (Ariz.), Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) voted with Democrats in favor of the treaty.
As a Libertarian who is utterly contemptuous of the Republicans for their love of big government and endless wars, I do make an exception when it comes to the US Senate.

When I Would Hold My Nose and Vote Republican
As a Libertarian and a Ron Paul Republican, I rarely vote Republican because I’ve never met an establishment Republican who wasn’t a socialist, a Marxist, a warmonger, a usurper of the Constitution, an enemy of civil liberties and a tax and spend progressive.
That said, there are circumstances where I would hold my nose and vote Republican. The US Senate. Screwed up as America is, one of the few things we have going for us is our sovereignty and while it’s constantly under attack by the UN and its treaties that are attempting to impose global totalitarian government, treaties are extremely difficult to get ratified.....
Republicans are less likely than the Dems to ratify sovereignty slashing treaties. The Dems, on the other hand, are addicted to sovereignty slashing supranational international bodies like the UN and its treaties. It doesn’t mean that all Republicans are supportive of US sovereignty, they aren’t, but Republicans are generally far less likely to cede US sovereignty to the UN.
If I lived in a swing state with a tight senate race, I’d definitely be holding my nose and voting Republican unless I knew for certain that the candidate was a UN lover (George Allen in Virginia comes to mind). While I’m a fanatical liberty activist, I’m also a fanatical US sovereignty activist.

When I Would Hold My Nose and Vote Republican

As a Libertarian and a Ron Paul Republican, I rarely vote Republican because I've never met an establishment Republican who wasn't a socialist, a Marxist, a warmonger, a usurper of the Constitution, an enemy of civil liberties and a tax and spend progressive.

That said, there are circumstances where I would hold my nose and vote Republican.  The US Senate. Screwed up as America is, one of the few things we have going for us is our sovereignty and while it's constantly under attack by the UN and its treaties that are attempting to impose global totalitarian government, treaties are extremely difficult to get ratified.

A treaty must be ratified by 2/3 of the US Senate and that's a very difficult thing to accomplish.

The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), a horrifying nightmare of a treaty that literally puts 70% of the earth's surface under UN control and taxing authority, has been sloshing around un-ratified since the days of Ronald Reagan who opposed it.  Clinton attempted to get LOST ratified and failed.  Even Bush couldn't get LOST ratified despite several attempts and a Republican controlled Senate from 2003 through 2008.  The elites of the Bush Crime Family are extreme advocates for ratifying UN treaties because they are indeed major power brokers in what has been dubbed the New World Order.

Republicans are less likely than the Dems to ratify sovereignty slashing treaties.  The Dems, on the other hand, are addicted to sovereignty slashing supranational international bodies like the UN and its treaties.  It doesn't mean that all Republicans are supportive of US sovereignty, they aren't, but Republicans are generally far less likely to cede US sovereignty to the UN.

If I lived in a swing state with a tight senate race, I'd definitely be holding my nose and voting Republican unless I knew for certain that the candidate was a UN lover (George Allen in Virginia comes to mind).  While I'm a fanatical liberty activist, I'm also a fanatical US sovereignty activist.

Without our sovereignty, we have nothing and no hope whatsoever of solving our problems.

Meanwhile, Obama and the Dems are pushing for ratification of the UN's Small Arms Treaty, a direct assault on American 2nd amendment rights.  Yes, the UN and the Dems are fanatical about disarming us and the Republican senators are our best bet when it comes to preserving our sovereignty and constitutional rights (now that's something that really makes me cringe!).

Right now the Senate consists of 51 Democrats, 47 Republicans and 2 Independents (who generally vote with the Dems).  Another reason to increase Republican representation in the Senate is Obamacare.  The senate has unique rules, specifically its cloture vote of 60 which means that a simple majority doesn't pass a bill.  However, there are a few exceptions and one of those exceptions is budget reconciliation.  Obamacare taxes can actually be overturned with 51 Senate votes.

The Puff Post is Pimping for the New World Order and Global Governance

It's no secret that the United Nations, the worlds' premier dictator club that advocates for global totalitarian tyranny, is lusting to impose global taxes including:

Global carbon taxes

Financial transaction taxes

A billionaires tax

Of course, it's not unusual for MSM to pimp for global governance and its sovereignty slashing treaties. The last thing humanity needs is to give the UN taxing authority, not unless the goal is to blast humanity back to the dark ages. In any event, the US needs to get out of the UN and get the UN out of the US.

The Huffington Post is an energized comrade for the UN and its global taxing schemes.  The following article includes a video of a totalitarian globalist actually staying that global governance is the only way to solve the world's immense problems.

UN Urges Countries To Impose Global Taxes, Raise $400 Billion

With debt ridden nations running huge deficits, socialists in Europe are gaining power at the ballot box. France imposed a huge pile of taxes on business and the rich (75%) to keep its failed socialist paradise financially afloat.  Of course, the French taxes will only drive the wealthy and their businesses out of France.
Hollande has said the 2013 budget will restore the pre- Sarkozy wealth tax rates on people with assets of more than 1.3 million euros. A one-time contribution is being imposed this year ahead of an overhaul of the levy.

French companies with 250 million euros or more in revenue will be asked to pay a portion of their corporate taxes early. Companies will pay a 30 percent tax on stock options, up from 14 percent. Executives receiving the options will be levied at 10 percent, from 8 percent now.

Another Sarkozy measure being rolled back is that French residents abroad will be tested on their means before sending their children for free to French state schools.

Among the measures that will be in the 2013 budget will be a 75-percent tax rate for income of more than 1 million euros.

With taxation and financial expropriation soaring everywhere, it's difficult to imagine that there would be much left for the UN to tax.  Despite the UN's disdain for nationalism, nationalism still rules and folks in prosperous nations want control of their own tax revenues and they are extremely averse to being taxed to fund some pie in the sky UN project in a foreign nation.

Despite the mess in the US, the most critically important thing that we can do is to reject ratifying UN treaties and to reject UN taxing authority that would undoubtedly fall hardest on Americans. Ratifying a UN treaty is a massive giveaway of UN sovereignty to an international body whose only goal is to finally rape and plunder Americans. America doesn't have much left of the constitutional republic gifted to us by our awesome founders but we desperately need to keep our sovereignty. Without US sovereignty, Americans are merely reduced to pawns and serfs on the thieving international chessboard.
